History

Since the Company’s inception in 1977, Ferguson Investigations & Security Consultants, Inc.  has provided law firms, corporations, financial institutions, insurance companies and individuals with professional, discreet investigative assistance. Clients have learned to rely on the thoroughness and accuracy of the information provided. We consider ourselves problem-solvers with a wealth of experience in business, law enforcement and investigations.

Ferguson Investigations & Security Consultants, Inc. is a Texas Corporation, licensed by the Texas Board of Private Investigators and Private Security Agencies. The Company has grown steadily and today provides a wide range of investigative and consulting services. What makes us unique is the quality of our people, the pride we have in our work product and our commitment to excellence.

Professional Investigators

W. Kent Ferguson, CFE

W. Kent Ferguson is a former special agent of the Federal Bureau of Investigation. He served in the Kansas City and Memphis field offices where he investigated organized crime, theft from interstate shipment, bank robberies and other violations of Federal law. He founded Ferguson Investigations & Security Consultants, Inc. in 1977.

Mr. Ferguson is a graduate of the University of Houston, with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree. He holds a Master of Science degree in Psychology from Our Lady of the Lake University. He is a Veteran of the United States Marine Corps. Additional employment experience includes human resource assignments as Personnel Manager for a unionized manufacturing plant and as a Supervisor of Training and Personnel for a non-union chemical plant. Mr. Ferguson is a Certified Fraud Examiner and has served the Houston Chapter as program director, vice-president and President. He served as a founding member of the Board of Directors of the Houston Crime Stoppers Program. He is active in the Society of Former FBI Agents, having served the Houston Chapter as Secretary, Vice-Chairman and Chairman. He is a past President of the North Houston Executive Club and a member of the American Society for Industrial Security. He is an avid sailor and competes in Triathlons.

Investigative Team

During our first thirty years of business operations we have developed an excellent investigative team. Ferguson Investigations & Security Consultants has professional investigators with extensive Federal Law Enforcement backgrounds, including the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Central Intelligence Agency, Drug Enforcement Administration, Secret Service, Customs and Homeland Security. We have also sought out local law enforcement experience, including former Officers with the Houston Police Department and the Harris County Sheriff’s Department. We approach every investigation by matching the problem to be solved with the case agent whose background and expertise best fits the situation.

In addition to our Houston Team, we have developed friendships and associations with investigators not only throughout the U.S., but worldwide. This allows us to develop information and handle investigative leads, often without costly travel.

Confidentiality

From initial consultation to final report, all aspects of all investigations are handled in complete and total secrecy. Case files are secured by alarm system, lock and key and on a need-to-know basis, even among our investigators.

When a company has been in business for twenty years and has an extensive list of clients, it is inevitable that situations develop in which we have two clients asking for our help that are on opposite sides of a business or legal issue. For Ferguson Investigations & Security Consultants to become involved represents a conflict of interest. Our policy is to immediately stop the communication and convey to the client that a problem exists and that Ferguson Investigations & Security Consultants cannot become involved.

Databases

In recent years we have witnessed an explosion of information available through computer access to databases.  Ferguson Investigations & Security Consultants has invested in state of the art computers and peripherals.  Ferguson Investigations & Security Consultants is on line with numerous National, State and Local databases and we are constantly reviewing, evaluating and upgrading these services.

Public Records

Because of our involvement in one of the specialty areas, financial investigations and asset searches, we have the ability to research available public records to develop all the information available from these sources.

Confidential Sources

Sometimes the most important information is only available through personal contacts, friendships and trust developed over years of ethical business dealings.
